American Pain Consortium Recognizes September as Pain Awareness Month

Highlighting Pain Awareness Week September 8–15

American Pain Consortium (APC) is proud to join organizations nationwide in recognizing September as Pain Awareness Month and September 8–15 as Pain Awareness Week. At APC, our mission is centered on supporting our clinics, physicians, associates, staff, and—most importantly—our patients. The effort we put into advancing treatment options and compassionate care reflects our passion for ensuring that everyone living with pain has access to high-quality, patient-focused care.

Chronic pain is one of the most common health conditions in the United States, affecting more than 51 million Americans—that’s 1 in 5 adults. For many, pain can limit mobility, affect mental health, and interfere with daily activities such as work, family responsibilities, and social life. Despite how common it is, pain often goes underrecognized and undertreated, making Pain Awareness Month an essential time to raise awareness, break down stigma, and connect patients with effective treatment options.

Pain Awareness Month reminds us of the importance of education, advocacy, and access to care, By supporting our teams and expanding treatment opportunities, we are making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients who may feel they have nowhere else to turn.

APC’s network of clinics and ambulatory surgery centers across Indiana and Ohio offers advanced interventional pain management therapies tailored to each patient’s needs. Patients seeking relief from chronic pain can find a dedicated care team ready to provide compassionate support and innovative treatments to improve quality of life.

As APC observes Pain Awareness Month and Pain Awareness Week, we remain committed to empowering patients, supporting providers, and raising awareness about the widespread impact of chronic pain.
