About Dr. Qadri
Yawar Qadri, MD, PhD, is an interventional pain physician and physician-scientist specializing in complex and refractory pain.
Dr. Qadri earned his MD and PhD in Physiology and Biophysics from the University of Alabama School of Medicine. He completed his anesthesiology residency at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Pain Medicine fellowship at Duke University.
Before joining Alliance Spine & Pain Centers, Dr. Qadri spent a decade in academic medicine at Duke University and Emory University, where he served as Director of Interventional Pain Therapies and Associate Cancer Pain Director. An experienced educator of medical students, residents, fellows, and practicing physicians, he was named Teacher of the Year by Emory Pain Medicine fellows in 2021, 2024, 2025, and 2026 and an Atlanta magazine Top Doctor in 2025.
His academic and research work has also earned recognition from the Cancer Pain Research Consortium and Interventional Cancer Pain Symposium, as well as selection as a Duke Health Fellow and FAER Resident Scholar. At the University of North Carolina, he was recognized as the Department of Anesthesiology’s Most Outstanding Resident Researcher.
Dr. Qadri treats both common and highly complex pain conditions, with extensive experience in spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, intrathecal drug delivery, vertebral augmentation, nerve ablation, cancer-related pain, neuropathic pain, and other minimally invasive treatments for patients who have not responded adequately to conventional care.
His approach begins with understanding why a patient hurts. Because similar symptoms can have very different underlying causes, Dr. Qadri believes treatment should be individualized rather than simply following an algorithm. His goal is to reduce pain, restore function, and help patients return to the parts of life that matter most.
He particularly enjoys working with challenging cases, including patients with uncertain diagnoses, unsuccessful previous treatments, or medical circumstances requiring a highly individualized approach.
